City of Hoboken launches survey to gather public input for introductory budget development

Mayor Emily B. Jabbour and the City of Hoboken today invited Hoboken community members to take an online survey to gather public input that will help inform the development of the City’s upcoming introductory municipal budget.

The survey asks for feedback on potential cost reductions, revenue opportunities, and priorities for City services and investments. Members of the City Council also submitted questions to ensure the survey reflects their input and budget-related considerations.

To help ensure the survey is accessible to all residents, the City’s Office of Senior Services will have a station available at the Multi-Service Center located at 124 Grand St. where staff will help seniors who would need assistance completing the survey.

“The budget is one of the most important tools we have to reflect our community’s priorities,” said Mayor Jabbour. “By launching this survey, we are giving residents a direct opportunity to collaborate with us and share their ideas about what services we should invest in, where else we can cut, and how we can responsibly generate revenue. Every tax dollar matters and public input will play a key role in helping us shape a budget that reflects the needs and values of our community.”

Responses from the survey, along with feedback gathered at public budget workshops, will help guide the Administration as it develops the City’s introductory municipal budget for the 2026 fiscal year. This input ensures that the proposed budget reflects the priorities and values of the community. The introductory budget will be presented to the City Council in April, where Council members will review, amend, and ultimately adopt the final municipal budget.

Residents can complete the survey online at https://arcg.is/nKGiO0. The survey will remain open until Sunday, March 22, at 11:59 p.m.
