The City of Hoboken is pleased to announce the development of a new, user-friendly municipal website aimed at improving accessibility, enhancing navigation, and expanding access to digital City services. This initiative is part of Hoboken’s broader effort to modernize local government and make City services more accessible and responsive to residents’ needs.
To ensure the new website reflects the priorities of the community, the City has launched an online public survey to gather input from residents, businesses, and visitors. The survey seeks feedback on current user experiences and preferences for new navigation features and uses.
“Our goal is to create a website that is accessible, intuitive, and truly serves the needs of all Hoboken community members,” said Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla. “We’re committed to building a platform that makes it easier to connect with municipal services, whether you’re paying a bill, reporting an issue, or looking for information on community events. The insights we gather from the public will directly inform the design, functionality, and priorities of the new website.”
The newly redesigned website aims to exceed the standards set forth in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as outlined by the U. S. Department of Justice, ensuring a more inclusive experience for users of all abilities.
Accessibility features of the new website will include improved color contrast, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, scalable text, and more.
