Mayor Bhalla, Health Department encourage homebound residents to pre-register to receive Johnson & Johnson vaccine

Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla and the Hoboken Health Department are preparing for the door-to-door distribution of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine for homebound residents. In anticipation of a potential supply from the State of New Jersey, Mayor Bhalla encourages any homebound Hoboken resident, or family member or friend of the individual to pre-register to receive a vaccine on Hoboken’s registration page.

To pre-register a homebound resident, please visit hobokennj.gov/vaccinesignup and select the new designation “homebound”. Homebound residents, or their family or friends may also pre-register by calling the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) hotline at 201-420-5621, and leaving a message with the homebound resident’s first name, last name, address, age, contact phone number and email, if available. The message should also indicate that the pre-registration is for a homebound resident.

If a homebound resident or representative of the homebound resident previously pre-registered with the City of Hoboken, they are asked to do so again with the new “homebound” designation to allow the Hoboken Health Department to create a targeted list for door-to-door vaccinations.

The homebound designation must only be utilized for individuals who are physically unable to leave the home.
