Update on Northwest Resiliency Park construction

Northwest Resiliency Park update

Construction is scheduled to begin on the permanent 5 acre Northwest Resiliency Park in September. In preparation for the construction, geotechnical borings will be conducted at the current pop-up park on August 26-28, causing the pop-up park to be closed from 8 AM - 4 PM each day, reopening each evening. The pop-up park will be permanently closed, and park features relocated beginning September 9.

As a reminder, the permanent Northwest Resiliency Park will become Hoboken’s largest park and will include above ground green infrastructure and a flood detention system underground. The park will have the capacity to withhold up to 2 million gallons of rainwater during storms to alleviate flooding. In addition, the park will include a lawn area, ice skating rink, pavilion and shade canopy, multi-purpose athletic field, play valley and fitness loop, and more.
