Mayor Bhalla announces Hoboken Summer Fun 2023 programming

Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla today invites residents to Summer Fun 2023 programs, including the free expanded Fitness in the Park series, family-friendly concerts in the park, and Movies Under the Stars.

This year, the city increased access to the free Fitness in the Park program which offers a series of sample classes hosted by local fitness studios in City parks. The program will provide more than double the number of classes than in previous years at six locations across the City. The City is also introducing morning sessions on select Tuesdays at Pier A Park and the new Northwest Resiliency Park, select Wednesdays at the Northwest Resiliency Park, and select Fridays at Sinatra Park.

The free fitness series kicks off Summer Fun programming on Monday, May 8, at Pier A Park from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. For a full schedule, see below.

The Concerts in the Park series will run on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays beginning in June. Concerts will be held in the evenings at the Southwest Resiliency Park on Mondays, Shipyard Park on Tuesdays, and Sinatra Park on Thursdays. It officially begins on Thursday, June 1, at Sinatra Park with Broadway hits and tunes performed by Broadway's Jack Casey, Finn Douglas, and Friends. For a full schedule, see below.

Screenings will start at 9 p.m. in June and July and 8 p.m. in August. Residents are encouraged to bring a picnic, blanket, or low-back chair. For a full schedule, see below.

“I encourage residents to take advantage of our great lineup of free events this summer which showcase talented artists, musicians, local businesses and more,” said Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla. “The Summer Fun program offers something for everyone, and I thank our sponsors, and our Cultural Affairs division for making this Summer Fun initiative possible this year.”

Residents should also take note of upcoming events, including activities and trips for seniors, farmers’ markets, and the annual Spaghetti Dinner Block Party scheduled for Aug. 29, among other summer events.

Today, Mayor Bhalla also announced the Hoboken Spring Artists’ Studio Tour which will take place on June 4 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at various locations throughout the City. The free, citywide walking tour offers residents a glimpse into the artistic creative process through tours of artists’ studios, galleries, and group exhibitions.

A digital map and artists directory will be announced and made available on Jun 1. Artists interested in participating should contact Cultural Affairs Administrator Geri Fallo at

The Concerts in the Park series is made possible in part by funds from The New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of The National Endowment for the Arts, administered by The Hudson County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, Thomas A. DeGise, County Executive, and the Board of County Commissioners.

The Movies Under the Stars program is sponsored by Colavita.
