All Emergency Snow Routes lifted; Keep travel lanes clear; Report untreated property

All Emergency Snow Routes, on City and County roads, have been lifted by the Hoboken Office of Emergency Management (OEM), including Willow Avenue and Observer Highway.

As residents dig out, and move vehicles, the City and OEM remind everyone to park legally, as close to the curb as possible, and ask all residents to keep travel lanes, corners, and crosswalks clear of parked and double-parked cars. This will allow first responders and emergency services to operate safely. Vehicles parked illegally, including those blocking the roadway or pedestrian areas, may be subject to ticketing and towing.

City public works crews and contractors continue to remove snow on public properties and crosswalks. Property owners are responsible for clearing  snow and ice from the sidewalks, curb cuts, and curb ramps adjacent to their property and are subject to fines between $250 and $2,000 if they do not do so.

Those who wish to report any unshoveled or untreated properties, can email sanitationinspectors@hobokennj.gov.

Street cleaning suspended & meter enforcement resumed

Street cleaning will remain suspended until further notice so City staff can continue to prioritize snow removal at crosswalks and bus stops particularly near schools and senior buildings.

The City will notify residents via Nixle and  social media when street cleaning resumes for snow removal operations.

Meter enforcement has resumed.

Office of Vital Statistics closed until Thursday; Senior programming cancelled

Senior programming will be cancelled until further notice due to a failing HVAC system at the Multi-Service Center. The City’s Office of Vital Statistics will reopen on Thursday. The City’s Rent Control Office and Office of Senior Services will be remote until further notice.
