Hoboken Police announce the fifth annual Sgt. Peter Zanin “Peachy” Toy Drive

The Hoboken Police Department (HPD) is now accepting donations for the fifth annual Sgt. Peter Zanin “Peachy” Toy Drive. The collection will benefit hundreds of local children and teens at the annual Hoboken Housing Authority and Familyhood’s Winter Wonderland, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.   Residents are encouraged to drop off unwrapped new toys, books, games, sports equipment, and other gifts for children and teens, at Hoboken Police Headquarters, 106 Hudson St., through Dec. 12. HPD will also be hosting an all-day donation drive outside of headquarters, on Dec. 10, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“Every year, the police department and the community come together, to make the holidays even better and brighter for many Hoboken families,” said Police Chief Steven Aguiar. “I’m grateful to everyone who puts the time, energy, and heart into organizing this event each year, reminding us how generous Hoboken can be.”

The Hoboken Police Department's annual toy drive was renamed for Sgt. Zanin, after he passed away five years ago today, Nov. 21, 2020. Zanin, a father of three and a 20-year HPD veteran, was involved in many events and initiatives that gave back to the community, including the annual Toys for Tots toy drive.
