Beginning Tuesday, October 16 and continuing through Friday, October 19, construction crews are scheduled to begin milling,paving, and striping Harrison Street between 4th Street and Newark Street. The resurfacing of Harrison Street is part of the City's Southwest Traffic Improvement Plan, which included three new traffic signals and other circulation changes in southwest Hoboken that were implemented in 2017.
In addition to milling and paving, the work will also include enhanced pedestrian crossings, a buffered bicycle lane, and a second travel lane to improve traffic flow between Paterson Avenue and Observer Highway.
Motorists should expect delays both on Harrison Street and cross streets as streets will be closed at times due to contractor operations. Work hours will be between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The schedule for milling and paving operations is as follows:
