Hoboken readies itself for the exciting next edition of the prestigious youth soccer tournament, LaLiga Promises, from Friday, June 8th the Sunday, June 10th. Organized by LaLiga and the José Ramón de la Morena Foundation, 7 U-12 teams from LaLiga Santander clubs and 9 U-12 teams from international clubs will compete in a 7v7 competition.
“I’m very excited that Hoboken gets to host such a great, international youth sporting event,” said Mayor Ravinder S. Bhalla. “The fact that the tournament will be played on our beautiful waterfront is a testament to how important our open, public spaces are to Hoboken and New Jersey.”
The following clubs will participate in the tournament: FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC, Villarreal CF, Valencia CF, RCD Espanyol, Inter de Milán, SL Benfica, FC Oporto, Liverpool FC, JEF United, Club América, New York City, New York Red Bulls and Ironbound SC.
Starting on Friday, the sports competition will take place at Sinatra Park Soccer Field, with games played during morning hours, starting at 9 a.m. each day.
All tournament games played on Field 1 will be broadcast live by Univisión & Televisa as well as on the official LaLiga channel on YouTube and on LaLiga TV.
Photo and written accredited media will have access to the playing fields in all matches. Television operators without rights will have access to all playing fields during the non-televised group stages on Friday (except for games on Field 1 which are televised). The tournament final will be televised and television operators without rights are not permitted to take video.
LaLiga will provide photo content and limited exclusive video content to media at the end of each day.
