Second Community Meeting on Southwest Park Sculpture

UPDATE: This meeting has been rescheduled for September 27 due to the weather forecast for September 12.

The City of Hoboken is hosting a second community meeting regarding the placement of an interactive sculpture on the Hoboken Southwest Park lawn. The meeting will be held from 6-7 p.m. on September 12, 2018 at the Southwest Park Terrace. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the results of an online survey that was available throughout the summer as well as gathering feedback from residents on how and whether to proceed with an interactive sculpture on the Hoboken Southwest Park lawn.

No formal action will be taken.

Hoboken Southwest Park opened to the public in September 2017, simultaneously providing much needed open space to the under-served southwest corner of the City and functioning as a detention system capable of capturing 200,000 gallons of storm water. Southwest Park was awarded the Jersey Water Works’s One Water Award in 2017, as well as the United States Green Building Council New Jersey Chapter Award for Innovation and Sustainability Best Practices Award in 2018, both in the Public Projects category.
