The Hoboken Green Team launched the Green Business Recognition Program in 2017 to distinguish local businesses that are advancing sustainability and environmental responsibility. In order to qualify for the Green Business Recognition Program, businesses must complete an application on the Hoboken Green Team website. The Hoboken Green Team reviewed this year’s submissions and determined that 25 businesses qualified for recognition as 2020 Hoboken Green Businesses.
“I’m glad to see our local small businesses doing everything they can to help preserve and protect our local environment,” said Mayor Bhalla. “Everyone can play a part in helping reduce our carbon footprint, and I thank our business owners for their dedication to a more sustainable future for Hoboken.”
Hoboken's Climate Action Plan, launched in 2019, seeks to achieve carbon neutrality in Hoboken by 2050 and exceed the goals of the Paris Agreement.
