City of Hoboken invites residents to family-friendly Southwest Fest on June 3

Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla, Councilman Ruben Ramos, the Hoboken Business Alliance, and the Hoboken Housing Authority today invite residents to the first Southwest Fest on Saturday, June 3.

The fun filled festival will take place on Jackson Street between Second Street and Third Street from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The fest will feature family friendly activities including carnival games, live performances, entertainment, and highlight local businesses and eateries.

“Thanks to the feedback from residents, we are making more programming and fun filled activities available to residents of West Hoboken, this time with our brand-new Southwest Fest,” said Mayor Bhalla. “I’m thrilled to partner with the Hoboken Business Alliance, Hoboken Housing Authority, and Councilman Ramos to offer this family-friendly festival, and I encourage all members of the community to come out, enjoy the outdoors with their neighbors, and participate in some fun-filled activities on June 3!"

“We are extremely excited that as a City we were able to collaborate with the HBA, HHA, and sponsors to show off our neighborhood by bringing a fun, family friendly event to west Hoboken for all of our residents to enjoy,” said 4th Ward Councilman Ruben Ramos.

“The business community believes that fun festivals and events are a cornerstone of what makes Hoboken a unique and thriving place to shop, dine, play, and stay,” said Roxanne Earley, Executive Director of Hoboken Business Alliance. “The Hoboken Business Alliance is proud to sponsor Southwest Fest and to bring new opportunities for community and business connection to this corner of Hoboken.”

“The Hoboken Housing Authority is excited to partner with Mayor Bhalla, the City of Hoboken, Hoboken Business Alliance, and Councilman Ramos, and HHA Commissioner and Councilman Michael Russo in supporting the first Southwest Fest,” said Executive Director of the Hoboken Housing Authority Marc Recko. “The residents of the Hoboken Housing Authority look forward to sharing a great day with all of Hoboken!”

Additional sponsors and thanks go out to Hoboken Hot Pizza, the Museum of Ice Cream, Hoboken Dual Language Charter School, Wonder Daycare, and Councilman Ramos and 3rd Ward Councilman Russo for their support of the event.
