City of Hoboken announces 2025 Summer Fun programming

Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla and the City of Hoboken’s Division of Cultural Affairs today announced the Summer Fun 2025 lineup, which includes free Fitness in the Park, family-friendly Concerts in the Park, and Movies Under the Stars programs.

“We’re proud to bring back a full lineup of free summer events that celebrate Hoboken’s creativity, culture, and community spirit,” said Mayor Bhalla. “This year’s calendar offers something for everyone from live music and dance lessons to a car show and outdoor fitness classes. I encourage all residents to take advantage of these opportunities to connect with neighbors, enjoy our beautiful parks and public spaces, and make the most out of summer in Hoboken.”

The Fitness in the Park series kicks off on Monday, June 9, with classes covering everything from high-energy workouts like kickboxing and cardio to slower-paced yoga and Pilates sessions, sure to renew and revitalize every body. Classes will be held at:

  • Pier A Park on Mondays and Tuesdays from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • ResilienCity Park on Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Southwest Resiliency Park on Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Concerts in the Park series begins with a family-fun night, on Tuesday, June 3, at the plaza at Seventh and Jackson Streets. Sponsored by the Puerto Rican Cultural Committee, the evening will feature a hands-on lesson led by renowned music educator Angel LaBoy. Residents and community members are invited to join in learning traditional Puerto Rican dance and music styles, including Bomba and Plena.

Live performances are scheduled for certain weekdays throughout the summer, including:

  • Select Mondays at Shipyard Park from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Tuesdays at Seventh & Jackson Street from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesdays at Church Square Park from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Thursdays at Sinatra Park from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Movies under the Stars will be held on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m., starting June 18, with “Crooklyn.” Movies will be shown at Pier A Park and ResilienCity Park. Other movies this summer include:

  • To Wong Foo...
  • Le Mans
  • Selena
  • Clueless
  • Dirty Dancing
  • Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
  • Downton Abbey
  • Downton Abbey: A New Era

Partners this year will add to screenings like the Colavita pizza truck offering free slices on certain evenings, and Porsche of Englewood which will host a car show prior to the screening of the high-octane action in Le Mans.

Residents are encouraged to bring a picnic basket, and a blanket or a low-back chair.

A full schedule of all 2025 Summer Fun programming can be found at: https://www.hobokennj.gov/departments/cultural-affairs

Summer fun programming can now also be found on the Division of Cultural Affairs social media accounts, including on Facebook at www.facebook.com/HobokenCulturalAffairs and Instagram at @hobokenculturalaffairs. Follow for ongoing updates and weather-related cancellations, and more.

The Summer Fun programs supplement additional youth and teen art programming made available through the Division of Cultural Affairs. Youth can still register for art programs, including salsa, hip hop, dance, spoken word, theater, photography, drawing, acting, mural arts, fashion, sculpture, and more.

Registration can be found online at https://hoboken.recdesk.com/.

Summer Fun events are made possible in part by funds from Veolia, Porsche of Englewood, Colavita, Ironstate, Focus Features, and “Downton Abbey, The Grand Finale.”

The City of Hoboken is committed to providing equal access for all patrons, employees, and the public. Upon request, we will make accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to participate in our programs and activities. All of Hoboken’s summer performance venues are wheelchair accessible. Those who require accommodations or services (i.e., an Assisted Listening Device or Open Captioning), please contact ccricco@hobokennj.gov at least two weeks prior to your scheduled visit.

Schedules are subject to change. Shows will be canceled for inclement weather. For updates, stay tuned to the City’s and Cultural Affairs social media feeds.
