NOTICE TO VENDORS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals will be received by the representative of the Division of Purchasing, for the City of Hoboken, County of Hudson, State of New Jersey on December 8, 2026 at 11:30 AM prevailing time at City Clerk, City Hall 94 Washington Street Hoboken N.J. for:
RFP - 26 - 17 - RFQ – Professional Services Licensed Attorney- Alternate Municipal Public Defender
Term: January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2027
The City of Hoboken is requesting proposals from qualified attorneys to provide legal representation as Municipal Public Defender in accordance with the specifications or City approved equivalent and N.J.S.A. 2B:24-4. The City reserves the right to qualify multiple Municipal Public Defenders. Appointees shall be considered per diem non- employees and shall be entitled to $450.00 per court session in lieu of any and all other fees and benefits. Each session runs, on average, from two (2) to five (5) hours. When assigned to a court session the public defender will appear in person unless otherwise directed by the court officer. The city will provide dedicated space for public defenders during in person court sessions when the public defenders are asked to join remotely. For matters that require a briefing package prepared for the court by public defenders a fee of $150.00 may be invoiced to the City with prior written approval.
Specification and other RFP information may be obtained by sending an email (below) to the Division of Purchasing, Hoboken City Hall, 94 Washington Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030, during regular business hours (9:00 am to 4:00 pm).
Vendors are required to comply, where applicable, with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq., New Jersey Statutes Title 19 Fair and Open Process, the City of Hoboken Chapter 20A Fair and Open Process, and all other applicable laws.
