City of Hoboken announces new Sinatra Drive Summer Streets hours

The City of Hoboken today announced new hours for Sinatra Drive Summer Streets which will now operate from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sinatra Drive between Fourth Street and 11th Street.

The hour adjustment follows a two-day observational analysis of the program’s usage conducted by the Transportation and Parking Department and Public Safety Department which found higher utilization rates through the morning and early afternoon hours, with minimal vehicular traffic impacts.

Summer Streets closes Sinatra Drive to vehicular traffic to provide additional open space for recreation along the waterfront.

Sinatra Drive Summer Streets will take place on the following Sundays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Aug.13, Aug. 20, Aug. 27, and Sept. 3. Temporary No Parking signs will be posted along Sinatra Drive as drivers will not be permitted to drive on Sinatra Drive between Fourth Street and 11th Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hoboken Police Officers will be on site to mitigate potential traffic impacts.

Summer Streets is part of the City Vision Zero initiative to eliminate all traffic deaths and injuries in Hoboken by 2030. To learn more about Vision Zero, visit vzhoboken.com.
