In 1846, Hoboken hosted the first recorded organized game of baseball and the Hoboken Recreation Division continues the tradition today offering several leagues and clinics for Hoboken youth from 4 years of age to 6 years of age. The spring tradition offers instructional fundamentals for new players to competitive comradery for seasoned athletes. The City of Hoboken also partners with Hoboken Little League to offer baseball for children 7 years old to 16 years old.

The City partners with Cheer Dynamics Academy to offer competitive cheerleading to children from 1st grade through 12th grade.
The City of Hoboken partners with the non-profit Hoboken Lacrosse Club to offer lacrosse to children between the ages of 8 and 14 years old. The program introduces, nurtures, and promotes the game of lacrosse in a fun, safe, and sportsmanlike environment.
The City of Hoboken Recreation Division offers softball to girls ages 4 to 12. The City has also partnered with Hoboken RBI since 2010 to provide softball to local girls between 13 and 18 years old. The program is dedicated to helping local youth play competitive softball while improving character, teaching leadership, fair play, and sportsmanship. The Hoboken RBI Senior Softball All Stars have made it to the RBI World Series in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and in 2017. In 2022, the RBI Senior team once again made it to the RBI World Series.
The City of Hoboken partners with Tennis Approach to provide Hoboken youth with fundamental tennis training through friendly knowledgeable instructors.
