The City of Hoboken and ALEOproduction present:
The Fleetwood Mac Engagement
Thursday, June 30, 2022 - 7p
In 1968, the backing trio for John Mayall recorded a song named after the rhythm section called, “Fleetwood Mac”. The drummer Mick Fleetwood thought naming the song after bassist John McVie would entice him to join the band permanently.
Six years, three guitarists, one love triangle, and one marriage later, keyboardist Christine Perfect was now Christine McVie, and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham was asked to join the trio. He said the only condition was that his girlfriend and musical partner, Stevie Nicks, could also join.
Then Fleetwood Mac released Rumors in 1975.
Christine McVie’s joyful songs about love, paired with Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks’ honest songs of stormy relationships, often told through Stevie’s gypsy-like characters, has given us a colorful array of tunes played by skilled set of musicians, all bringing their experience and creativity to every note in every song.
It is this reason that ALEOproduction is celebrating The Fleetwood Mac Engagement this year, as part of the Hoboken Sinatra Park Summer program.
